The Tulip Meditation

Hello mindful creatives!

You may remember that I shared these lines from a poem by Mary Oliver recently, and today I wanted to also share a guided meditation that was inspired by the tulip imagery at the opening of this poem.

(Length: 10 minutes, 30 seconds; meditation begins around the 2:30 mark).

Mary Oliver’s poetry was deeply rooted in nature and often teaches us how be more mindful and notice small moments of beauty or stillness. She often described poetry as a deeply rooted community ritual, a sacred practice that is not “owned” by the poet—as if it were channeled. Sadly, Oliver passed in 2019, but you can hear the poet speak about her work here in an NPR interview with Oliver from 2015.

With peace,

Anne
