Art Alchemy Studio

The Founding Story

I founded Wild Moon Craft to develop the connection between arts-based mindfulness and somatic embodiment practices. The studio philosophy brings together principles from my training in Reiki energy healing, meditation, archetypal divination, and wild crafting.

For now, the “studio” is still literally just a room in my house, but “founding” this space as a studio was a determined act of manifestation. More than creating a dedicated, physical location that nurtured my highest work—my creativity—it was creating space in my day-to-day life, time in my schedule, and room in my heart and mind for work that nourishes the soul.

I began a journey to heal from trauma, grief, and radical burnout. I was adjusting to a new normal, a life with chronic pain and invisible illness, but I was determined to find ways to thrive instead of merely surviving.

My soul needed a way to feel at home in my body, a way to process what could not be put into words, and just like that—

I was called to Art.

Throughout the process of coming into my own as a visual artist, I began to practice mindfulness in earnest, as well as exploring other spiritual healing work through avenues of making. I researched the wild crafting rooted in the druidic traditions of my Celtic heritage and welcomed the medicine in making inspired by a variety of folk and hand crafts.

Art as Spellwork

Making art became a visceral means of connecting me to the earth and to ancient ways of making and unmaking. Using the inspiration of nature and paying close attention to my embodied experience, my intuitive process is a kind of eclectic—even curated—witchcraft, with the lunar calendar marking time and amplifying intentions, and pattern and repetition acting as incantations to a wild, creative spirit.

My goal is follow that curious spark of creativity regardless of medium or style. My craft invites close looking/listening/experiencing and my work embodies energy within, around, and through its making. I hope that my art inspires further connecting with deeply rooted forces of peace, empowerment, and intuition. Wild Moon Craft seeks to reclaim these quiet, spiritual art practices for myself and, hopefully, for a collective of creative folx with similar goals.

I hope you will visit the shop to see some of my recent small-scale works and join me on Instagram and my blog as I share my favorite mindful art practices, resources for creative freedom, and other tools for artistic inspiration.

I sometimes offer arts-based healing sessions for BIPOC, 2SLGBTQQIA+, neurodivergent, and/or disabled clients. If you are interested in learning from my practice 1-on-1, please get in touch using the contact form.

There is medicine in making!

Acknowledgement

Located in what is currently North Texas, Wild Moon Craft resides on land that is the ancestral home of Indigenous Peoples including the Caddo, Wichita, Tawakoni, and Kiikaapoi, as well as the tribes that may have roamed the area. I acknowledge that I live here as the descendant of colonizers and honor with deepest respect the Native communities working to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

full-hearted thanks

My thanks to the many healers, artists, & teachers who have shared their knowledge with me on my journey. I honor the diverse spiritual influences from my ancestors of Celtic, English, Acadien, Otipemisiwak-Métis lineage, as well as all keepers of folk traditions. I offer my deepest respect for rituals and practices that have been passed down as healing arts by those before us.
